We headed a bit further East today (from Great Bend to McPherson, KS), and on today's route, the wheat is looking a little more golden. With the way the wind rustles through the fields, I now understand the "amber waves of grain" phrase. Very pretty.
Just 64 miles today, and only ~ 1000 ft total vertical gain for the day. Kansas is flat. But we will get some climbing when we head into Missouri.
The "4 Amigos" were joined by Bob and Tom R. for a while. And toward the end of the day we chased down Champ.
Talked with some locals as we rolled into town today, as we always like to do. Apparently the local newspaper needs some stories, so the town's Veterinarian took a picture of us and will submit it along with a few facts about the ride to the local reporter!Life in a small town, eh?
All in all, just another great day on the bike.
